| Safety with Club PERÓ

Your daughter's safety

Your daughter's safety is our number one priority at Club PERÓ. Here are a few of the ways we enforce safety:
  • Safe Flooring/Mating: Our locations are covered with Rhythmic Gymnastics Mating and/or Tarkett. This floor covering provides a safe surface for students to train on, minimising the chance the injury.
  • Apply/Provide First Aid & Working With Children Checks (WWCC): Our coaches hold up-to-date Apply/Provide First Aid Certificates and Working with Children Checks.
  • Member Protection Information Officers (MPIO): Rachel Weiner and Coaches Sarah W & Rebecca N
  • Maintain a close working relationship with Flow Physio: As Gymnastics Coaches, we recognise that we are not Physiotherapists, and although we know a lot about Rhythmic Gymnastics, Aesthetic Group Gymnastics, Movement and Dance, there is a great deal more to learn from leading industry professionals. This is why we maintain a close relationship with Flow Physio.

Andrea Pantoja has over 9 years of experience in treating musculoskeletal and orthopaedic injuries. Having worked in sports medicine clinics, and having been an elite Rhythmic Gymnast herself, Andrea has a special interest in treating sports injuries.

Andrea graduated from the University of Sydney in 2004 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise & Sports Science) and in 2006 with a Master of Physiotherapy. Since graduating, Andrea has worked in private practices and sports clinics in Sydney and Central London. She has also worked with multidisciplinary sports medicine teams providing physiotherapy to all kinds of athletes (in sports including rugby union, rugby league, soccer, cricket, netball and of course, gymnastics), as well as to the general community. Through her experience, Andrea has developed a close working relationship with Sports Physicians, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Allied Health and Trainers and Coaches.

Andrea has extensive experience in treating a range of injuries and has a particular interest in treating lumbo-pelvic pain. As a Rhythmic Gymnast, Andrea trained up to 40 hours per week and competed overseas, which unfortunately lead to a back injury. Both understanding the physical demands of Rhythmic Gymnastics, and the physiology leading to injury, Andrea is able to treat gymnastics injuries and educates her patients on future injury prevention.

Andrea Pantoja is the Principle Physiotherapist at Flow Physio in Randwick, and is also a clinical pilates instructor. She is a member of The Australian Physiotherapy Association and Sports Physiotherapy Australia
